Celebrating North Carolina Day

Rooted in North Carolina Heritage

At Mile High Lumber & Construction, much of our work is inspired by the land and history of this region. From the rolling hills of Ashe County to the historic barns that dot the countryside, North Carolina’s culture is deeply tied to craftsmanship, resilience, and a respect for natural resources.

That’s why we’re passionate about reclaimed wood—many of our materials come directly from old barns, homes, and churches across the state. Every board carries a piece of North Carolina’s story, from the farmers who built with it decades ago to the families who now bring it into their mountain homes.

Building North Carolina Strong

We believe construction is about more than beams and boards—it’s about strengthening communities. Whether we’re helping homeowners design a dream cabin, supplying reclaimed lumber for a one-of-a-kind project, or supporting local builders, our work is built on the same values that North Carolina was founded on: hard work, creativity, and care for our neighbors.

The Beauty of Our State in Every Project

From rugged reclaimed barnwood mantels to modern timber-frame homes, our projects reflect the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the character of North Carolina itself. On this North Carolina Day, we celebrate not only the place we live, but also the opportunity to help others build here—using materials that tell the story of our state’s past and create a foundation for its future.

Happy North Carolina Day!

From all of us at Mile High Lumber & Construction, thank you for trusting us to be part of your projects here in the High Country. Today and every day, we’re proud to serve North Carolina with quality, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the land we call home.
